Chia Seed Smoothies

Is your summer bod ready? Chia seeds are one of the healthiest foods on the planet. They provide antioxidants, fiber, anti-inflammatory omega-3s, and are packed with plenty of other nutrients. They also expand in liquid allowing you to feel fuller longer, which helps you eat less.

The texture of the seeds can be off-putting at first, so for those who are trying it for the first time, enjoy it in a berry smoothie.

  • 1 cup of frozen mixed berries
  • ½ cup of unsweetened pomegranate juice
  • ½ cup of water
  • ½ cup of chia seeds
  • handful of spinach or kale

Blend together the frozen mixed berries, pomegranate juice, water, chia seeds, and spinach (or kale). You can also pre-soak your chia seeds in water with a seed to water ratio of 1 to 3 for a different texture. Sprinkle some chia seeds on top and enjoy!
