The perfect pita bread pizza.

We’ve all had the pizza craving dilemma before. Maybe it’s too early in the morning to order pizza delivery, but you simply can’t stop thinking about a mouth-watering slice of cheesy goodness. Pizza problem, solved!

If you have pita bread in your cupboard, pita is a great and healthy substitution for crust. To preserve pita bread longer, simply move it to the freezer, where it can last for months when frozen. We all love our delivery pizza, and occasional food indulgence is key to snack satisfaction. But you have our permission to put the food delivery service app on hold tonight so you can bond with your kitchen.

To make a homemade pita bread pizza, you’ll need pita bread, a can of tomato sauce, four ounces of shredded mozzarella cheese, three ounces of sliced provolone cheese, two ounces cheddar cheese, three small sliced tomatoes, ½ teaspoon dried basil, and ½ teaspoon dried oregano.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees, then spread the sauce, cheese, and toppings on pita. Cook for 8 minutes. Cool, then serve.

For those who have a yen for early-morning pizza, try the breakfast pita pizza.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line with parchment paper. Place 3 strips of bacon in a medium-sized pan and cook on high heat until brown.  In a medium-sized pan, scramble 4 eggs, and combine with one jar of pesto sauce. Pour mixture on a slice of pita bread, and place in the oven for eight minutes.
